PHILOSOPHY & METHODOLOGY

The work
within.

Alchemy gives Hearth a language for transformation. Music gives it a form we can enter.

Our starting point is a human need: to feel held, to rest, to find clarity, to belong. Sound, felt resonance and story offer a way to explore that need through experience.

The instrument creates the setting. The composition holds the arc. What you encounter—and what it means—belongs to you.

THE ALCHEMICAL PRINCIPLE

PHILOSOPHIA

Solve
et Coagula

SEPARATE · PURIFY · REUNITE

Something loosens. Something becomes clear. Something gathers into form.

This is the movement at the heart of Hearth: sound, felt resonance and story creating space to encounter what is within, then carry it back into life.

I

Separate

Step beyond the noise.

The first movement creates a threshold: away from the demands of the day and towards your own attention. Nothing needs to be performed.

II

Purify

Attend to what becomes clear.

In Hearth’s symbolic language, purification means discerning what matters. Music, contrast and quiet invite attention; they do not decide what your experience means.

III

Reunite

Give the experience a place in life.

The composition gathers and gradually recedes. Return to the room, to the body and to one ordinary action that can carry something of the encounter forward.

Hearth interprets the alchemical language of dissolution and gathering as a contemporary artistic framework. “Purify” describes discernment within this philosophy, not bodily detoxification.

SEVEN HUMAN NEEDS

A map with
many entrances.

Containment, Softening, Discernment, Connection, Activation, Perspective and Embodiment are the seven pillars of the Hearth method.

Each joins a familiar human need with a musical intention and an alchemical correspondence. There is no required order. A need can change from one day to the next; so can the place you begin.

01

A place to land

Containment

Low, unhurried tones. A steady foundation and space to arrive exactly as you are.

Saturn / Calcination / mortification

“What would help you feel held?”

02

Permission to rest

Softening

Open intervals and gentle movement. An invitation to loosen the effort of the day.

Moon / Dissolution / solution

“Where could you allow a little less effort?”

03

Room for clarity

Discernment

Clear tones, quiet contrasts and generous pauses. Listen for what feels important.

Mercury / Separation

“What becomes clearer when there is space?”

04

Warmth and belonging

Connection

Rounded harmonies gathering softly. A listening space for tenderness and connection.

Venus / Conjunction

“What brings you into relationship with life?”

05

Your own sense of agency

Activation

A gentle pulse and brighter harmonics. Meet movement at your own pace.

Mars / Fermentation / vital heat

“What small movement feels like yours?”

06

A wider horizon

Perspective

Spacious layers and an unfolding musical line. An invitation to listen beyond the familiar.

Jupiter / Distillation / sublimation

“What changes when you widen the frame?”

07

A considered return

Embodiment

Warm, resolving tones that gradually recede. Leave room for the ordinary world to return.

Sun / Coagulation / fixation

“What would you like to carry into your day?”

Planetary and alchemical correspondences guide Hearth’s creative practice. They are symbolic associations, not measured effects or a prescription for the listener.

THE EXPERIENCE / FROM THRESHOLD TO RETURN

Arrive. Immerse. Return.

01 / ARRIVE

Cross the threshold.

Choose an intention and a listening format. Learn what the session involves, settle into your surroundings and give yourself permission to participate at your own pace.

02 / IMMERSE

Enter the composition.

Music develops through tone, rhythm, texture and silence. In a compatible SOMAURUM session, tactile vibration gives the composition a physical dimension.

03 / RETURN

Bring something with you.

The sound gradually recedes. Notice the room, take your time, and consider a small gesture that gives the experience a place in ordinary life.

A PHILOSOPHICAL LINEAGE

The world within
the world.

Paracelsus’s writing on the microcosm imagines the human being in relationship with a wider living world. Hearth draws on that image as a poetic lens for inward attention: the elemental world encountered through material, music and the body.

Solve et Coagula brings another movement into that encounter—loosening, discerning and gathering again. Hearth’s method is a contemporary interpretation of these traditions.
